Privacy Policy

Call God is a devotional app. People bring it things they may not tell anyone else, so we treat what you write with care. This policy explains, plainly, what we collect, why, and what we never do.
The short version. We collect the minimum needed to run the app: your email (to sign you in), a nickname, and what you choose to write. We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not share what you write with other people unless you deliberately send it to them.
Who we are
Call God is developed by MBT Dragon Tech (the "developer", "we"), based in the Philippines. Questions: hello.callgod@yahoo.com.
What we collect
- Account information. Your email address and password, handled by Google Firebase Authentication. We never see or store your password.
- Profile information. A nickname, an optional profile photo, an optional birthday, and an optional age range. These are things you type; none are required to use the core of the app.
- What you write. The messages you send when you "call" — what is weighing on you — along with the verse and reflection you receive back. These are saved to your journal so you can look back at them.
- Prayers you request. If you ask for a personal prayer, the few words you share are sent to our server to compose it.
- Community activity. If you use the Community, we store which scripture references you send to whom. These conversations are deleted automatically — they expire at midnight.
- Presence. Whether you are currently in the app, and when you were last seen, so others can see who is online. You can turn this off by making your profile private.
- Usage counts. How many AI responses you have requested today, so we can apply a free daily limit.
What we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your location.
- We do not collect your contacts.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not use advertising identifiers, and we show no ads.
How your words are used
When you write to Call God, your message is sent to our server, which asks an AI service (Anthropic's Claude) to choose a fitting Bible verse and write a short reflection. The scripture text itself is never generated by the AI — it is looked up word-for-word from a bundled copy of the World English Bible (public domain), so it cannot be misquoted.
Your message is sent to the AI service only to produce that response. It is not used to train AI models, and it is not sold or shared for advertising.
Crisis messages. If your message contains words suggesting you may be in danger of harming yourself, the app returns a fixed, pre-written response with a crisis hotline — without sending your message to the AI at all. This is deliberate: in that moment we want reliability, not cleverness.
Photos
If you choose a profile photo, it is stored with your profile. If you save a verse image, it is written to your device's photo library. We ask for photo permission only for these purposes, and only when you tap those buttons.
Notifications
If you turn on the daily verse reminder, notifications are scheduled on your device and work offline. We do not send you push notifications from our servers, and we do not use them for marketing.
Who can see what
- Your journal is private. What you write and the verses you receive are visible only to you.
- Your birthday and age range are private. They are stored separately from your public profile and cannot be read by other users.
- Your nickname and photo are public to other signed-in users if — and only if — your profile is set to public. You can switch to private at any time in Settings, and you will disappear from the Community.
Children and young people
Call God is intended for a general audience and may be used by young people. We ask for an age range only so the reflection can be written in a way that suits you; it is optional and kept private.
We do not knowingly collect more personal information from a child than is needed to run the app, we show no advertising, and we do not profile users. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us information you would like removed, contact hello.callgod@yahoo.com and we will delete the account and its data.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of providers to run the app:
- Google Firebase — sign-in, database, hosting, app integrity.
- Anthropic — the AI that writes the reflections and prayers.
- Google Play / Apple App Store — if you choose to become a member, your payment is handled entirely by the store. We never see your card details.
- RevenueCat — tells our server whether a membership is active.
How long we keep things
- Community conversations: deleted automatically at midnight.
- Your journal and profile: kept until you delete them or your account.
- Daily usage counts: kept only briefly.
Deleting your account
You can ask us to delete your account and everything in it at any time. Email hello.callgod@yahoo.com from the address you signed up with and we will remove your account, your journal, your profile and your messages.
Security
Data is stored with Google Firebase and protected by security rules so that your private information can only be read by you. Sensitive fields (your birthday and age range) are stored separately from your public profile. Membership status can only be set by our payment webhook, never by a device. No system is perfect, but we have tried to make careless mistakes structurally difficult.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, tell you in the app.
